Strip 6 ~ Bad News

We're introduced to a new character, Drake, just as he receives some bad news.

It's been a few months but I over the last few weeks I did an entire art overhaul. No more pesky burn-and-dodge, no more crazy inconsistent faces, no more crazy sharp outlines. I'm really happy with the way this has turned out.
Anyway, in this strip we meet Drake, the third and last of our main characters for the time being. His friend, Jackson, is also here. Thought I'd mention his name because I'm not sure if it actually appears in the script at any point.
I really couldn't be bothered when it finally got to the background. I threw in a bunch of blurry pilots to get the feel that the room is rather busy. Drake's drink was originally bright green 'cause I had no idea what it was supposed to be, but when I drew him spitting the drink out, it began to look like fluorescent vomit. So I changed it to something that looks like grape juice.
Drake went through a couple of redesigns. I knew basicly what I wanted him to look like, but it wasn't until I took on this style that I really got close to that. So it looks like Artemis will get a sparkly new overhaul as well (which will hopefully stop people from thinking that she's a man).
